40 Developmental Assets
search-institute.org
This is a great tool for parents to use to teach young people skills for making positive choices in the face of life's challenges. 40 Developmental Assets is built and promoted by the Search Institute, which says, "40 Developmental Assets are concrete, common sense, positive experiences and qualities essential to raising successful young people. These assets have the power during critical adolescent years to influence choices young people make and help them become caring, responsible adults."

Philanthropy Days
Rural Philanthropy Days attempts to channel increased funding to rural nonprofits and other community agencies by bringing funders from metropolitan areas to visit rural regions of the state. The event includes 2 days of discussions, social gatherings and other activities. It's an opportunity for agencies seeking grants to meet up with those offering funding.
Philanthropy Days travels around the state, visiting each region once every four years. The event came to Northwest Colorado in 2005.
It will return to Northwest Colorado in the fall of 2012.
For more information, visit the Community Resource Center, one of the producers of the event.
